i played this a long time ago but never wrote a review til now and given recent reviews does not apear anything has changed
this game should be 1 to avoid at all costs never before have i ever seen a developer so uncaring so hostile in my life it has no chat block method with the most toxic comunity i have ever seen and they will try to defend that reason by saying chats heavily moderated? thats no excuse especially since 1 its not true and 2 some of the mods are just as toxic as the players
the dev clearly doesnt care about the players nor do they care about the game so why should you? please do not play this game we cant go around supporting hostility
oh and its also pay to win massivly
find other games lets avoid this one
DragonRip is a great game to actively play and also idle play. It's not overly complicated but doesn't hold your hand. You can specialize in different professions and global events are especially fun. There are daily ones and seasonal ones. Lastly, the community is helpful and is the cherry on top. :)
In depth game . Many features. Lots of quests to keep you engaged. Lovely community eager to help you. I love it. Have dropped other games in favour of this one.
I've tried a bunch of these games and this one is my favourite. One of the most active nicest global chats i've come across, it really isn't pay to win because you can just buy the premium currency with in-game money and they're not that expensive. I will say that the benefits from premium currency aren't game breaking in any way and really just increase idle time by a bit
This game is most definitely play2win...dragon tokens control the game and give players an unfair advantage over others...they are used to increase your inventory space and your bank space both... The admin on this game is very moody and uncaring...basically has a "take it or leave it" mentality...very poor communication with players... The chat is active due to achievements for spamming...very unfriendly community overall...little or no mod presence to moderate chat and it often is totally out of control...
A beautiful and dark roleplaying game with active and idle elements. A slew of abominable creatures inhabit myriad locales, including tundra, wastelands, jungle, desert, and hell itself. Training your strength, the fifteen professions, your skill tree and pets, and acquiring gear will require a sharp intellect. The always friendly chatroom is a relief from other games in this genre.
The game is absolutely not P2W, and anyone who thinks it is simply doesn't grasp the scope of the game.
It is incredibly LONG and takes a lot of patience to get what you want. I've been playing this game for over 10 months and it is one of the most satisfying gaming experience I've been on. I haven't spent a SINGLE PENNY on this game. And I am high level with good gear and increased bag space/am always in "berserk mode".
You can do EVERYTHING with the gold you acquire in game. the premium currency is sold on the market place by other players that want to sell their tokens for gold. It's a two-way relationship between paid-players and free-players.
Without the free players the tokens wouldn't be able to be converted into gold that easily and without the people supporting the amazing developers (who CONSTANTLY listen and adapt to player feedback) the free players wouldn't have the premium currency. It works extremely well.
Don't think of this game in how many hours it contains, it's literally it's own world. It'll take YEARS to get to the highest gear/stats/areas. It's a wonderful community once you understand it's truly international
There is a living economy (full marketplace, requests), with factions, constant seasonal events and updates, updates, updates! I've made some good friends on this server and I'm honestly shocked at how attached I feel to this community now.
The grind is severe and if you are not the type of person to put in a ton of work for a payoff then maybe look somewhere else. But for those that want to make a name for themselves and take the time to develop your niche within the game it pays off more and more the longer you play.
Grinding months for an item drop and once you finally see you hit the extremely low drop rate lottery it's exhilarating.
Try it out, be social, know you are stepping into an established world filled with people who have taken the time and energy to understand the mechanics.
You either check it out for a while and leave or you move in and make it your home. You will become our neighbor!

Overall i don't recommend anyone play this game and here's why:
1)P2w aspect of the game. Many high lvl players (if not all of them) spending hundreds of dollars each month. Why? Because it's the main economy of the game. You need premium currency to unlock charms and to build clan buildings - without it game is almost unplayable if you doing combat. And that is not all of it, without "dragon tokens" you basically stuck with small inventory space(and small bank space too) forcing you to buy them from the market(ie from the players). It may sound fair if you ask about it in the community, but developer is totally shady about it and don't care that prices are regulated by the players themselves. All your money will be spend on dragon tokens. Alternatively you can buy bags but they only get you 300 more space overall, rather than 5K+ with tokens. And don't even think asking about this in chat, you will be obliterated by the people and most probably will get ban.
2)Developers. There are two of them, married couple. But most of the work is done by 1 man. Really hard people to talk to, they don't care about problems the game have but aware of them. It's probably the most strange developers I've seen so far, don't talk, don't answer, if you said just a tiny critique about they game you are getting ban in no time.
3)Information. You want some information about something? Well good luck to you with outdated wiki and silent developers. Most of the information you can get from players in chat but even they may be wrong sometimes or don't know themselves. You want to know drop rate for the items you will be spending months to grind? Well you will not get any. They probably don't want to scare potential token buyers. But i warn you, it's gambling at it's finest. You can spend half a year without a single drop or you can spend 20-30 dollars and buy it from the market.
Nice game :) Friendly and helpful community :) As far as I know: the next biggest update will be guild related but anything besides that is a secret :)
I enjoy the general presentation. It's got some character for sure, although it doesn't offer anything obviously unique.
I have mixed feelings on the p2w aspect. My biggest beef is that it isn't super obvious up front that there is any payment aspect. I had to dig around the wiki to find the info about Dragon Tokens which was a bit off putting. p2w itself isn't always a problem, but it's hard not to make assumptions when information is so tucked away.
That may be a general problem with the game itself; its documentation. There is a wiki that has a decent amount of information but there isn't a general high level explanation of what's going on in terms of story or larger setting. For example, registering requires you to "pick a side" but it isn't clear what difference it makes aside from character class options. Why should I care what side I choose? I want to know more than just a generic light vs dark battle.
The other big thing that bugged me was the level requirement to post in the forums. That seems unfriendly to new players and unnecessarily exclusive. The admin feels hard to get ahold of. All that said, I do see potential. The quest option doesn't currently work but when it did, there seemed to be a spark of depth. The UI/UX feels nice if just a bit tedious at times. The in-game chat/events works well. The number of things to do and places to go feels large enough to sustain engagement and curiousity.
I rate it a 3/5. If the game setting/lore and communication issues are fixed up I can see it being a solid 4, but for now it just barely misses the mark.
