this game has its ups and downs. genuiinely i joined because i wanted to play with friends and enjoy the game. unfortunately time and time again ive been faced with how awful this community and staff are. all the special races are locked behind special request, except special request doesnt exist anymore. if you want stuff done that you yourself cannot do you have to ask the gods. except the gods never get back to you and when they do its often to say no. time and time again ive had my roleplay wrecked by gods. the head admin alone plays two of the major gods and decides arbitrarily when shell play them. there is a staff member who plays two well know community gods that pretty much never roleplays them except in fringe situations. you have to put in so much effort and essentially spam pray to get anything and hope youre "spicy" enough for them to like your plot. certain community members who played a certain exgod now has a whopping three immortal characters on a whim and are constantly getting things. the favoritism is rampant and blatant and people who pray maybe once like a certain reviewer who posted very recently happen to get constant god interactions for simply existing. the corruption of the past everyone points their fingers to has moved into hiding. they make jokes about the shadow government but it really isnt that deep. its just that the staff are a clique and you have to be interesting enough for them to want you around.
they also allow some awful stuff to happen because it "doesnt break the rules" and you have to essentially build a portfolio of anyone you want to report to get any kind of traction. but good luck getting it seen any time soon because the admins are always way more busy so they leave it to the barely present and overworked mods to handle. except not really because they take over each and every report anyways and you can tell because youll get way more answers from the head admin rather tahn any of the mods. they constantly play damage control and scramble to make new rules to cover the gaping holes their current ruleset makes.
i want to like it. hole-heartedly i do want to. but its so hard when every idea gets tramped on only to find some staff member or one of their clique now has taht idea and is using it. you are expected to do everything in your plot because the staff arent dungeon masters, but you also cant do anything that would go against their fragile popstickle set up for lore. theres also the fact that staff have constant disagreements so some times youll put your report in and get a yes. then youll reply and suddenly a different staff says no.
gods also are played like characters so if you have a character who wants kids but has a graoin injury, you have to pray to life. but if life doesnt like you for some arbitrary reason, she can just deny you and thats it. and the community will pretend that surrogates is an option but we all know it isnt the same. gods have their own personalities and opinions and that means that you can spent your entire life worshipping order only for him to turn around and call you a disorderly bitch and then drop kick you to the other end of the world without rhyme or reason without your consent. whats more is that they dont even give you messages or alerts. they used to be better about it but not any more. no more forworning for when your about to get tossed by a god. no bluetext or any other color.
they also let shitty people play even if theyve been suspended, banned from the discord and forms and have no real presnce in the community. why even bother?
id recommend if you wanna roleplay that you find a different game. and not the untitled roleplaying game because although its supposed to be better, its way worse. marosia surpasses it in every regard.
ps. they know this site exists and theyll shit talk it whenever they see a new revew. so if you wanna post your expereicnes here you should come up with an alt adn tyope in a way that they wont expect so you can leave an honest review. theyve tried to have it taken down because its all "lies and slander" even though theres is proof for everything awful thats happened.
pps. i wanted to leave a review to help new players understand that this is a cliquebased game and there is favoritism. i want this score to drag the numbers down so that attempts to raise it will struggle. because it is not a good game for anyone in the community. they have shit talking in the vc, they allow call outs and dog piling. they foster such a toxic community you might as well call this tumblr kek. and you could say im biased because i wasnt in the clique and now i;m angry reviewing. im not angryu. im sad. this game was so great under saph and then the new head admin made it crash.
ppps. there used to be a god system so we had some say as the players to get rid of gods and give them power. now that doesnt exist. and while it was a good idea at first. the issue is that now they are abusing it. it was supposed to further story lines and enjoyemnet but now its used for the character gods to get their kicks through wrecking other peopls roleplay. there are some good gods. there are some gods i like. but none of them reply with any sort of haste if at all and they will bog down your willingness to be a faithful character bexuase you get nothing. years and years and years of nothing which translates to actual real life years. and oh. forbid if you have to depend on one for a roleplay because unless you put in a report to say its urgent you will never get any timely reply ever.
